Information
Taking into account the climate characteristics of Saudi Arabia, the long-term planning for 2030, and the core demands of the customers, we have specifically carried out an extreme environment planting technology verification project - selecting the Taklimakan Desert in southern Xinjiang of China (with an annual rainfall of less than 30mm, severely saline-alkaliized, having a climate highly similar to that of Saudi Arabia, and also facing the dual challenges of "dry and little rain + high salinity and alkali content", which is not suitable for the cultivation of economic crops). We innovatively adopted the technology of using seawater to improve severely saline-alkali land, and carried out large-scale trials of planting wheat, rice, corn and alfalfa. By overcoming the core pain points of soil improvement and crop adaptation in extreme drought and high salinity environments, the survival rate of the project crops reached over 95%, successfully achieving efficient cultivation of economic crops under harsh conditions. The related technical achievements and practical experiences have been highly recognized by experts at home and abroad, providing a feasible and replicable mature solution for Saudi Arabia to replicate and promote similar ecological agriculture projects, solve the bottleneck of agricultural development in arid and saline-alkali areas, and contribute to the country's sustainable development goals.
