The concept of the fisherman’s cove is inspired by fisherman’s dwellings as well as natural cove formations. The buildings which reference the clustering of traditional dwellings morph into an enclosure which surrounds the water, creating the effect of the cove. In addition, the applied grid configuration references the industrial fabric of the city of Jubail. The resulting enclosure optimizes the existing vantage points and introduces new ones by introducing walkways and terraces across different levels and heights. This redefines the site’s relationship to the water.
