Chongqing Luneng City Phase III Commercial Mixed-use

This project covers three city blocks in the heart of Chongqing, a major city in southwest China, famous for its hilly landscape and the Yangtze River. The HKS design team faced the challenge of designing a 410,000-square-meter, mixed-use transit-oriented development (TOD) above two subway lines and one bus terminal on a topographic elevation that has a 27-meter difference from the West to the East. The HKS design team created a dynamic retail diagram to integrate all the different functions and include a smart resolution for an extremely complicated traffic flow.
