The Grand Egyptian Museum, a monumental project, was meticulously designed and is currently Operating. On February 2, 2010, Hill International made a significant announcement stating that the Egyptian Ministry of Culture had entered into a contract with a joint venture of Hill and EHAF Consulting Engineers. This joint venture was established to provide project management services for the museum.
The architectural plan of the museum incorporates a distinctive chamfered triangular shape, adding a unique and captivating element to its overall design. Strategically situated near an interstate junction, the museum is positioned approximately 2 kilometers northwest of the awe-inspiring pyramids. Notably, the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Menkaure are precisely aligned with the north and south walls of the structure, respectively, forming an impressive visual connection.
As one approaches the museum, they are greeted by a grand facade featuring a spacious courtyard adorned with graceful date palms. The facade itself is crafted from translucent alabaster stone, imparting a sense of elegance and luminosity to the exterior. Upon entering the museum through its main entrance, visitors will be greeted by a striking atrium, where magnificent large statues will be prominently displayed, capturing the attention and imagination of all who step inside.
