Information
For Maltese citizenship, investors have two options. The first is to purchase a property in Malta valued at least €700,000, which must be held for 5 years. Alternatively, investors can choose to rent a property valued at €16,000 per year for 5 years. In addition to this, investors are required to make a non-refundable contribution to the Maltese government. If the investor applies for citizenship after 1 year of residency, the contribution is €750,000. However, if the investor applies after 3 years of residency, the contribution is reduced to €600,000. Dependents of the main applicant, including financially dependent children up to the age of 28, parents, and grandparents over the age of 55, are also required to make a contribution of €50,000 each. Additionally, investors are required to make a philanthropic contribution of at least €10,000.
